Brothers,
Inserted in this Knightly News you found an envelope for KC Charities
with our council return address sticker.
In the past KC Charities of Florida requested you return your donations
directly to them. This year they
have requested the councils collect the donations, record them and forward the
contributions to them. This will
ensure that our council will receive credit for all of our member's
contributions. In the past many
members failed to complete the envelope flap with the information requested for
the proper council to receive credit for the donation. This year KC Charities has set a goal
to raise $250,000.00. Crisis
pregnancies and battered women and children are and should be a concern of
every Knight and family. KC
Charities has developed the "Lifesaver" Award for every person who
contributes $100.00 or more. They
will receive a "Lifesaver" lapel pin, have their name included on a
special scroll to be presented at our convention and their picture displayed on
our Lifesaver collage at the convention.
Please be as generous as you can to this program and return the envelope
with your donation as soon as possible.
November will be a busy month.
We will be cooking a barbecue on Sunday November 24th at Christ the King
Church as they celebrate the 10th anniversary of their tithing program. So all
cooks and helpers please note the date.
We are counting on you!!
Our annual memorial mass for our deceased Brother Knights will be held on Tuesday, November 24th at the Council Hall. Ceremony will commence with mass at 7:00 PM followed by the candle lighting ceremony. Please plan to attend.
On Saturday, November 30th, we will host a reception for our new Supreme Director Dennis J. Stoddard at Christ the King Parish Hall. Details appear elsewhere in the Knightly News. See you there. As always Thanksgiving is a time for all to give thanks for the blessings we receive. There is still much unrest and uncertainty in the world. We should all take time to thank God for our families, our friends, our country and our freedom. Carol and I wish all of you a Blessed and Happy Thanksgiving.
Peace to all.

Dear Brothers and Sisters
Greetings
with love!
November
we think of all Saints and All Souls. Our goal in life is to become a Saint
because all the people in heaven are Saints. The poor souls in Purgatory cannot
help themselves to get released; we can help them. How? By attending Mass.
Every mass we attend we can pray for our loved ones and those who have no one
to pray for them. It could be our Mom, Dad, Brother, Sister, Relative, or
friend we are helping. They all are saying to you please listen and go to an
extra mass a week for me. Can you do that? Sure you can! It is a matter of just
doing it.
Love and
Peace,
Msgr.

Dues notices for the year 2003 will be in the mail on or about November
1st. Please note that we are
returning to the calendar year billing.
We tried to go to the fiscal year billing cycle but it was difficult to
do in that the 2003 membership cards were not available in July when dues were
due.
It is also time for anyone who wishes to be a newsletter sponsor to send
in his or her check. Newsletter
sponsorship is $10.00 per person per year. Thus if a husband and wife both wish to be sponsors; it
would cost $20.00. Please mail
these checks to me (Don Thompson) at 5314 Coppedge Ave. The zip is 32277.
The requests for donations to K.C. Charities are included in this
newsletter. If you wish to donate
to K.C. Charities please send a separate check to the hall in the enclosed
envelope. Please do not mail them
to me.
Thanks for your attention and cooperation,
Don

The month of November in the Knights of Columbus is traditionally the time during which we remember our deceased Brother Knights -those who have gone on to their eternal reward.
Our thoughts also turn, naturally, to those who our Brother Knights have left behind their widows and children. These are the same people, though of a different generation, who occupied Father McGivney's thoughts in 1882 when he founded the order.
The first two reasons listed on our charter for the establishment of the Knights of Columbus are;” rendering pecuniary aid to its members, their families and beneficiaries of members and rendering mutual aid and assistance to the sick, disabled and needy members and their families”.
My position as a field agent for the Order has evolved from those principles. I am here to help you plan financial security-both for yourself and for those who you may leave behind. I am not here to sell you insurance because you might die and be a part of our remembrances next November. I am here to sell you insurance because someone else might live…and I think you love that someone and would like her to continue to live with dignity.
It's not a pretty thought, but picture the first November your loved ones will spend without you. How does it look?
Call me today for an appointment .I want to here from you.

There will be a New Year's dance at the Council Hall / 6030 Expressway. Seating is limited so make your reservations now. There will be a DJ & Breakfast. The activities will take place from 9PM - 1AM. Contact R. Mosley or J. Middleton
One project leads to another, but we do see the end in sight. The TV's have been installed and the wall is down and I hope to have the Accordion Door installed by the middle of November. This will give us room for dinners, dances and so forth. I understand an open house and a New Years dance is in the works. The goal of the ACA is to make this hall meet our members’ needs.
